The iCustom Caliper Respray Difference: Our 5-Stage Process
Unlike quick touch-up services, iCustom Autohouse performs a professional, durable respray that ensures maximum adhesion, even colour, and long-term durability.
1. Professional Caliper Removal & Inspection
The vehicle is safely lifted, and wheels are removed. Crucially, the calipers are fully removed from the hub (where applicable and safe) or masked meticulously in place to ensure 360-degree coverage and prevent overspray on sensitive brake components. We inspect for any obvious wear or damage before proceeding.
2. Deep Decontamination & Prep
The calipers are aggressively cleaned to remove all embedded brake dust, grease, road tar, and old paint/lacquer. This involves wire brushing, chemical cleaning, and sanding to create the ideal surface texture for primer adhesion.
3. High-Temperature Coating Application
We apply a high-quality, high-temperature primer, followed by multiple coats of your chosen colour using professional-grade, heat-resistant paint (such as VHT or equivalent coatings). This ensures the paint will not blister, flake, or discolour under the intense heat generated during braking.
4. Custom Decal Application (Optional)
Once the colour coat is cured, we apply professional, heat-resistant decals (e.g., Brembo, AMG, M-Performance, or custom branding) and seal them with a durable, clear coat lacquer for a seamless, factory-finish look.
5. Reinstallation & Quality Check
The finished calipers are reinstalled to factory specifications, torque specifications are strictly adhered to, and the brake system is visually inspected. Wheels are cleaned and reinstalled, and the vehicle is lowered, ready for collection.
